How does MyRed.ca work?
Start with a free phone appointment available 7 days a week. We arrange your lab tests, send requisitions directly to the lab, and help you find the nearest location. Once results are ready, you’ll have a phone appointment with a clinician to finalize your PrEP plan. For injectable PrEP, you’ll then visit one of 40+ Ontario clinics every two months for your injection.
How much does injectable PrEP cost?
Over 97% of MyRed.ca patients pay $0 for PrEP. We handle all coverage checks and paperwork for you. If you’re currently paying out of pocket, book a free intro appointment—we’ll see if we can bring your cost to $0.
Do I need a health card?
No health card is required for appointments with MyRed.ca. We work with patients regardless of their coverage status and help navigate available options for everyone.
How often do I need injections?
After two initial injections given one month apart, you’ll receive an injection every two months (6 times per year). We’ll send reminders and provide 7-day call/text support to keep you on track.
Can I keep my current doctor?
Absolutely! If you already have a PrEP prescriber, we can work with them. We coordinate refills, handle coverage paperwork, and deliver discreetly—all with 7-day call/text support. No need to switch clinicians.
What if I prefer daily pills instead?
We offer both injectable and oral PrEP. If daily tablets work better for your lifestyle, we can help you start oral PrEP with the same free appointments, coverage support, and 7-day support.
Where can I get my injections?
We have 40+ injection clinic locations across Ontario. After your MyRed.ca appointment, testing, and prescription, you can get injections at any of these convenient locations near you.
Does PrEP protect against other STIs?
PrEP only protects against HIV. It does not protect against other sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, or herpes. Regular STI testing is still recommended.

Sherron is a Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about health promotion and disease prevention. She has a BSc in Nursing and a Master in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner from D’Youville University in Buffalo. With over 12 years of experience in acute care medicine and chronic disease management at Sunnybrook Hospital, Sherron now also focuses on increasing access to PrEP for HIV prevention. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, reading, travelling, theatre and spending time with her family.
Marie-Anne is a Registered Nurse who cares for our PrEP and sexual health patients alongside our nurse practitioners. She is truly passionate about quality patient care and is happy to answer the questions people are sometimes nervous to ask. Outside of work, Marie-Anne is a serious coffee drinker and a pancake connoisseur.

Cole is our Patient Care Coordinator and often the friendly voice on the other end of the line when you call. He helps sort out the logistics that come up along the way, so the process feels simple for our patients. Cole studied at Brock University and brings a calm, easygoing approach to his conversations. Outside of work, Cole plays guitar, cooks more than he admits, and, weather permitting, enjoys the great indoors.
Rafik is our pharmacist and his number one priority is helping patients feel confident and supported in their care. He takes the time to listen, answer questions, and explain medications in a clear, down-to-earth way. When he’s not caring for patients, Rafik loves spending time with technology and computers—always exploring new tools and ideas. That passion for tech, combined with his dedication to patient care, helps him bring a modern, efficient, and personal touch to every prescription.

After graduating pharmacy school, Aaron was driven to make an impact on the health of others by using technology to increase access to certain areas of health care, and more importantly reducing the stigmatization of HIV.
